Suge Knight Sentenced To 28 Years In Prison: Suge Knight was involved in a fatal hit and run back in 2015 and now he’s finally been sentenced for his crime.
Fox News reports that Suge was sentenced to 28 years in state prison earlier today after striking an unexpected plea deal on September 20th. The Death Row co-founder plead no contest in the voluntary manslaughter of Terry Carter, which will result in him spending nearly three decades behind bars.
Carter’s wife wrote an open letter to the court saying:
“These children have been robbed of the only father they know. By God’s grace I am surviving. Not living, surviving. This is a nightmare. I am no longer the mother, sister, wife I once was. I am no longer a wife because of the defendant’s senseless actions. Because of the defendant I have an endless flood of tears; no matter how hard I try to keep them back, they continue to flow.”
Normally a manslaughter charge carries an average penalty of 11 years, however with Knight’s checkered past California’s three strike rule was applied to his sentence.
